University of the Aegean

The 17th International Congress of the Geological Society of Greece, will be held at the Department of Geography, University of the Aegean, in Mytilene, on the island of Lesvos, Greece.

The University of the Aegean in Mytilene serves as a prominent academic and conference venue, offering modern facilities suitable for hosting scientific events.

Municipal Theatre of Mytilene

The opening ceremony of the 17th International Congress of the Geological Society of Greece, will take place at the Municipal Theatre of Mytilene.

The theatre has a seating capacity of 485 and features an amphitheatrical layout. The venue is also equipped with modern audiovisual facilities and interpretation booths, allowing it to function as a fully equipped conference center.

Sappho Square, Mytilene

Sappho Square is a central and historic square located in the heart of Mytilene, the capital of the island of Lesvos in Greece.

Named after the ancient poetess Sappho, who was born on the island, the square serves as a popular meeting point for locals and visitors alike.
